Project Planning Pre-Construction Surveys
This project required replacing the existing underwater sensor system with an updated Underwater Electro-Magnetic Measurement System, to magnetically measure all classes of US Navy ships and submarines. Prior to the commencement of work, the PCCI Team performed a pre-construction dive survey, of the sensor array Junction Box Platform, and cable paths. PCCI prepared dive plans, a critical lift plan, and sourced non-magnetic grout and stone for Government of testing and approval.
Concrete Mat Removal and Reuse
PCCI removed and reused the concrete mats covering the Home Run cable path that had been installed by another contractor the prior year. The mats were cleaned and reused after applying new geotextile fabric as needed to protect the cables.

Range Demolition and Reinstallation
PCCI disconnected and removed the 45 existing sensor and cable systems; excavated sediment from the magnetometer array; installed new sensor tubes, upgraded instrumentation and their associated cables; and then installed non-magnetic gravel backfill in the sensor cable trench and over the sensor array.
Home Run Cable Installation
The PCCI Team bottom laid 10 new composite Home Run cables between the Junction Box Platform and the Range House. This also involved removing the existing cables from the second deck of the Range House to the shore-line transition as well as from their respective risers at the platform.
